East Boston Homes for Sale
Originally a center of shipbuilding, East Boston has always been a neighborhood of immigrants. Today its population is made up largely of Italian-Americans and immigrants from Central and South America and Southeast Asia. That diversity is reflected in the neighborhood's myriad of ethnic restaurants.
East Boston has also become famous for its incredible food. Whether is pizza, lamb and sausage at Santarpios, chicken marsala at Jeveli’s, lobster ravioli at Renos or chilles rellenos at Angela’s Cafe, people have always raved about the delectable cuisine.
The nation's first branch library was built in East Boston in 1870. The housing is a mixture of old and new, including many restored triple-deckers that many landlords put up for rent.
Logan Airport, is located here, making East Boston a gateway to people from around the world. Located across Boston Harbor, East Bostonresidents enjoy fantastic waterfront views of the city skyline.
East Boston is home to six community gardens managed by various organizations such as the Boston Parks and Recreation Department and the Boston Natural Areas Network. Also located in East Boston is one of Boston's more popular public beaches, Constitution Beach, which is located in the Orient Heights section of the neighborhood.
