Mission Hill Homes for Sale

Mission Hill was once a neighborhood of Roxbury before Roxbury’s annexation by Boston.  It was often referred to as Parker Hill before the annexation.  Mission Hill is only 3/4 square miles and has the population of approximately 18,000.  Mission Hill is often referred to as “The Hill” and it overlaps with about half of the Longwood Medical and Academic Area.  This area is home to 21 health care, research, and education institutions and it is the largest employment area in the City of Boston outside of downtown.

Mission Hill today is a very vibrant community and has experienced the addition of mixed-income housing, the revnoation of One Brigham Cricle, and a strong business district.  The neighborhood was named in March 2008 as one of 25 “Best Zip Codes in Massachusetts” by the Boston Globe.  The area boasts increased value in single-family homes, plentiful restaurants and shopping, plenty of racial diversity, and a high percentage of people who walk or take public transit to work.

New condominiums now join the traditional brick row houses and many three-decker homes that mark this architectural landmark district. Located just one mile from downtown Boston, Mission Hill also houses the historic Mission Church. Mission Hill is an architectural landmark district with a combination of freestanding houses built by early wealthy landowners, blocks of traditional brick row houses, and many triple decker units.  Many are condominiums, but there are also several two-family and some single-family homes.
