Newton is a suburb of Boston located seven miles of downtown Boston.  Newton is bordered on three sides by the Charles River and is the combination of thirteen “villages.”  According to the 2010 Census; the population was 85,146, making it the eleventh largest city in the state.  Newton was first settled as part of Cambridge and became a city in 1873.  It is known as “The Garden City.” 

Newton is a total of 18.2 square miles and has been consistently ranked as one of the best cities to live in in the country.  In 2012, Money magazine named Newton the 4th best small city to live in America.  There are a total of five colleges and universities in Newton as well as several historical points of interest.

Newton is often noted to be a desirable community to live in due its proximity to Boston, its nationally recognized public school system, and safe and quiet neighborhoods.  Newton also is home to many well maintained parks, bicycle and fitness trails, and a public pool and lake. It is well-served by the MBTA with a many stops on the Green line, commuter rail, and frequent express buses to downtown Boston and Waltham.
