West Roxbury Homes for Sale
West Roxbury is a neighborhood in Boston separated from Roxbury by Jamaica Plain and Roslindale. As of the 2010 census, about 30,000 people lives in West Roxbury and it is roughly 4.6 square miles. West Roxbury’s tree-lined streets and mostly single family homes give it a suburban feel in an urban setting.
Residents of West Roxbury often focus their attention on civic activism, local politics, and youth athletic leagues. The neighborhood is also well noted for its historic landmarks such as the Theodore Parker Church, Westerly Burying Grounds, and the Boston United Hand in Hand Cemetery. Millennium Park, a former landfill that has been converted into 100 acres of trails, ball fields, and picnic areas, is also a popular destination in the neighborhood.
West Roxbury is home to several well established public and private schools. West Roxbury is also well serviced by the MBTA, with three stations on the commuter rail and several bus lines running through the neighborhood.
